A person's spinal column consists of four curves namely: cervical, thoracic, lumbar and pelvic. The cervical curve, which this article will focus on, starts at the top of the odontoid route and ends at the hub of the thoracic curve. Of the four curves, the cervical arc is the least prominent.

An ordinary person would not know this, as what we know is that we have a spinal column and that's it. We do not know the different arcs that are present in our vertebra. Although we may know that once the spine has been damaged, our body will not be able to function well. These four regions in our vertebra are in charge of balancing our bodies preventing us from being injured. Thus, it is very essential and so we learned to take care of our spine. If you turn on your side, you will see your cervical curve. It is known as the cervical spine and arcs forward. In medical terminology, it is called lordodic curve.

Once the curve is lost or if you noticed that it had straightened, you definitely have a problem. This may be caused by an injury or some pain or distress that has been left untreated. It can sometimes develop to having a reverse curve. Any minor decrease in the normal curvature of the cervical spine can lead to a more severe health issue.

Cervical curvature can be attributed to the following:

innate curvature of the upper backshock like whiplash from a car mishapdeterioration of the discdamage from surgery or any medical procedureSlight distress, headaches and minimized movement of the neck are the indications of cervical curvature. It can even lead to paralysis in worst cases.

It is ordinary to have neck pain but it is not typical. You know very well that something is wrong when you have a neck pain. If you woke up and had some neck pain, we always say, stiff neck, and blame it on our sleeping position. For that matter, we feel a limited motion on our neck. If it was not relieved of hot or cold compress, then it is about time that you seek the help of a chiropractor before it gets worse. Chiropractic care is intended to alleviate us of these health issues. Do not self-medicate or just let it be, justifying that it will soon go away.

Remember, your spine is very important and your health depends on it. Chiropractic care can bring back the normal curvature of your cervical spine and that is not just relieving you of your pain but bringing you back your health as a whole.
